What is Dogecoin (DOGE)?

Dogecoin (DOGE) is a cryptocurrency created as a joke in 2013, based on the popular Shiba Inu dog meme. Originally intended as a parody, DOGE has grown into one of the largest cryptocurrencies, partly thanks to Elon Musk's support and an active community.

Unlike Bitcoin, Dogecoin has no maximum supply — new coins are added every year (inflationary). DOGE is used for tipping, small payments, and is accepted by some companies (Tesla for certain products).
